Business districts

Zagreb is important international trade and business center, and transports crossroad of Central and East Europe. A city known for its diverse economy, high quality of living, good transport connections, concentration of industry and scientific and research institutions underlie its leading economic position in Croatia. Almost all of the largest Croatian companies, as well as the branch offices of many international companies have their headquarters here. In recent times business districts are spontaneously developing at the periphery of Zagreb or in locations where there are unbuilt, larger land areas. Thus, business zones were created: Buzin, Jankomir, Stupnik, Lučko. In the 2000s, the City Assembly approved a new plan that allowed for the many recent high-rise buildings in Zagreb, such as the Almeria Tower, Eurotower, HOTO Tower, Zagrebtower, Sky Office Tower and the tallest skyscraper in the country – VMD Strojarska.


Called the VMD area this business center is located in the immediate vicinity of the Main Bus Station, comprising of six buildings two of which are skyscrapers. Building A has 13 floors while the main Building B has 25 floors and is 96 m high. Each floor is in surface area of approx. 700 m2 and can include three separate office premises. Built in 2014, these quality A buildings offer great business environment and support facilities within such as restaurant, kindergarten, grocery store, gym, conference room, coffee shop, laundry, car wash, etc.


Zagreb’s booming office and entertainment district which has undergone a major transformation over the past decade from a tired industrial zone to a dynamic and vibrant office, shopping, leisure and entertainment center. Also, it is a new elite residential location which has been aligned with the most attractive locations in the city. Well connected to major transportation lines and systems, it has a fast access to the international airport, as well as highways to Slovenia and Austria to the west and Serbia to the east. It is a home of Green Gold, Grand Center, Center 2000, Almeria, Zagrebtower, Romeo i Julia center and many supermarkets, restaurants and bars.


Located at west-end part of Zagreb Between Zagrebačka Avenue and Bologna Alley, this business and shopping area became one of the most significant industrial zones in the city. Many big and important companies were built here, nowadays replaced by an increasing number of smaller private companies that primarily deal with service activities. Due to the good traffic situation, shopping centers like King Cross and City Center One have been built among several retail chains like Lidl, Kika, Pevec, Bauhaus, Metro. Hidden gem of Jankomir is the office building Škorpikova with its eye-catching architecture. Total rentable area of 2,600 sqm spread over five floors, it offers modern and flexible office spaces in impressive glass façade.


A business zone in the very center of the city hosting many Croatian trading companies, international corporations, state institutions, embassies, banks, insurance companies, hotels and restaurants. Here are business buildings with offices to let like Business Center International, Eurotower, Eurocenter, Zagrepčanka, Hoto Tower… German and British Embassy are also located in this area.


Buzin is a city district in the southern part of Novi Zagreb, next to the road leading to the airport. The construction of the business zone began in the mid-90s, but soon after the US Embassy building was built in 2003, the development of Buzin became more rapid. In the business district of Buzin is a number of international companies and new office buildings, which confirms the fact of creating a new and dynamic business center of the city of Zagreb.
